PART 1:
Go to www.prisonexp.org
Read until the “Grievances” section.
While reading, you can watch the videos, too. They are helpful for understanding.
PART 2:
Answer the discussion questions:
1. How do you think you would have behaved if you were a prisoner in this situation? Would you have rejected these privileges in order to maintain prisoner solidarity?
If i was in this situation i will behaved good because if you not listening to the guard they will kill so back than u have to have behaved even thou you dont want to, you dont have know choice. and i have to listening to the guard so they can give me enough food and give me a big cell, because the prisoners cell is very small.
2. Most prisoners believed that the subjects selected to be guards were chosen because they were bigger than those who were made prisoners, but actually, there was no difference in the average height of the two groups. What do you think caused this misperception?
The guard were only there to do they job not to heart any prisoners but they not doing in they job they doing in whatever they to the prisoner, but when the parent of the student prisoner come to the jail the guard going in to take care of them clean them make sure they giving them good food, and clean they cell. but some parent was upset when they saw they kids, some is saying look bad. the guard suposed to do they job and the prisoners suposed to do they job but the guard is taking care of them.
3. Do you see any connections to the readings we have done in class?
The connection that i see is in guinea some parent take they kids to study and give the teacher money for they kids to make they studying good, but when they parent didnt come to visit them the teacher be treating them bad, not giving them enough food and not let them play with they friends some time some kids was running away because they teacher is bad.but when the parent come to visit them the teacher be taking care of them make sure they studying good, that realy connect to the reading we did in class today.
